Itinerary:
We leave Tbilisi early in the morning and drive along the Georgian Military Road, the historic route connecting Georgia with the North Caucasus, to Kobi. From here, we leave the asphalt road and continue to the starting point of our hike. The trail leads through a narrow mountain gorge into the wide and scenic Truso Valley, known for its colorful travertine formations, mineral springs, and the striking Abano Mineral Lake. Along the way, we pass abandoned villages, medieval towers, and remote monasteries, offering a glimpse into the valley’s rich history. Our destination is Zakagori Fortress, where we climb to the ruins for panoramic views over the valley before hiking back to our vehicles. We then drive back to Tbilisi, arriving in the evening. End of the tour.
