Udzo Monastery to Turtle lake Half-Day Hike – 5 December
Join us on a hike from Udzro Monastery to Turtle Lake, following a scenic ridge with beautiful views over Tbilisi. Enjoy an easy-to-moderate trail that finishes at the peaceful lakeside.

Drop-off: We will finish hike around 2 pm Turtle lake, Tbilisi from where you can take cable car or taxi.

Difficulty: Easy but its Downhill and sometimes quite steep. trail might be muddy, recommend to have extra shoes to change after hike.

Itinerary:
In the morning we will leave Tbilisi and transfer to Udzo Monastery, where our car will leave us there and our downhill hike begins. The trail starts with a steady forest path leading to the ridge, followed by a gradual, open route with beautiful panoramic views of Tbilisi. The ridge walk is comfortable and well-marked, with gentle ups and downs, before descending through a shaded forest toward Turtle Lake. The tour ends at the lakeside, where you can relax at a café for lunch, take the cable car to Vake Park, or simply order a taxi home. Please consider our car will not meet us at the end.

HOW TO PREPARE FOR THE TOUR
MEETING TIME AND PLACE
We meet 9:00 at Samaia Garden. Please be on time. In case of any delays, please inform your guide. Otherwise, the group will depart without you.
WEATHER
Georgian weather changes often and fast. For this reason, it’s essential to follow the weather forecast closely. Here is the weather forecast. Please check it the night before the tour to be well prepared.
WHAT TO WEAR
Please wear clothes appropriate to the weather. Hiking boots are a must. Raincoats, sunscreen, hiking poles if you use.
FOOD & DRINKS
Always make sure you have enough drinking water. 1.5-2 liters should be enough for the day. Please bring something to eat during the hike – sandwiches, dried fruit, and sweets.
OTHER ESSENTIAL ITEMS
If you are prone to motion sickness, please have medicine with you. Bring a day pack to carry important items with you. sun protection.
