Trail description: one-way trail first uphill section, then on the ridge, then heading downhill. Large part of the hike lies in a forest. We recommend wearing hiking boots and bringing walking poles. Trail might have high grass.

 

Itinerary:

We will leave Tbilisi in the morning and drive to Zedazeni area, forested mountain in Saguramo. The trail is well-visible most of the time. In a couple of places, we will walk over collapsed trees. Mid-hike, we will have a chance to sit down and enjoy a picnic lunch. Bring your favorite snacks with you. The last section of the hike will take us out of the forest to an open space with a view of the Tbilisi Sea. Trail might have a lot of mud if its raining. trail might have a lot of grass if its not walked yet.  We will finish hiking at Vejini where we will meet our driver. The end of the tour.

Itinerary:

Explore the history, culture, and nature around Tbilisi on this day trip. Start at the Didgori Battle Memorial, dedicated to the famous 1121 battle, and enjoy wide mountain views from the area. Visit Tsveri St. George Church, a small hilltop church surrounded by peaceful landscapes, then continue to Betania Monastery, a well-preserved medieval monastery hidden in the forest.

Take a relaxing break at Kiketi Farm, where you can enjoy local products and lunch if you wish. Take a look at Beria’s historic summer house (we can’t get inside the garden) , and finish the day with a short hike to Azeula Fortress, where the ruins and panoramic views create a perfect ending to the trip.

Trail description: The trek is long, with a steady elevation gain from Juta towards Chaukhi Pass and a steep descent towards Abudelauri Lakes. Crossing the pass is the most challenging section; the trail over the pass is covered with gravel and small stones moving under hikers’ feet. The last 400 meters before the pass are a steep uphill followed by a relatively flat section on the pass and a long steep downhill towards Abudelauri Lakes. Other sections are much gentler, covered with grass and sand.

 


Itinerary:

Day 1
Tbilisi – Juta – Acclimatization overnight
We will depart Tbilisi in the afternoon and drive to Juta village (approximately three hour drive). We will follow the famous Georgian Military Highway, stopping on the way to admire its highlights – Zhinvali Reservoir, Ananuri castle, and Gudauri panorama. Upon arrival in Juta, we will check into our guesthouse head to explore the hidden corners of the area. Dinner and overnight in Juta.

 

Day 2
Juta – Chaukhi – Chaukhi Pass – Roshka – Tbilisi
After breakfast We will start our hike early in the morning. The initial stage of the trail will be relatively easy, with a gradual but moderate incline. Our first stop will be near Tina Lake at the foot of Mount Chaukhi. After a short break, we will proceed towards Chaukhi Pass – the most challenging part of our trek due to altitude increase. After crossing the pass, we will start descending to Roshka Village. This section of the hike is long and follows a narrow path covered with gravel. we will find Abudelauri blue and green lakes on the way and have short breaks. In Roshka, we will meet our drivers. Return to Tbilisi in the evening. The end of the tour.

On the first day of the tour, we will stop at a local market to buy food supplies for the trek. We will also get some snacks for the long drive. Dinner we will have in a guesthouse.
On the second day, we will eat breakfast in the guesthouse and take our lunch boxes with us to eat on the trail.

Itinerary:

We will leave Tbilisi in the morning and head on Georgian Military Road to Gudamakari Valley. This lovely, remote region is a small historical geographic area stretched on the southern slopes of the Greater Caucasus Mountains along the Black Aragvi River.

Our hike will start near Bursachili Village at an elevation of approx. 1700 m.a.s.l. From there, we will follow an earth road deeper into the valley. After the first 5 kilometers, the rad will shit into a narrow walking path running along the mountain slopes. Eventually, we will reach the 20-meter-high spectacular Bursachili Waterfall, where we will have time for a scenic picnic.

In the afternoon, we will head back to our vehicles and head back to Tbilisi. Return to Tbilisi, the end of the tour.

Itinerary:

After departing from Tbilisi, we will drive to Gudamakari Gorge, a mountain region known for its villages, traditions and sacred stories of local shrines, preserved through generations of oral traditions. Our local guide will take us through the villages of Chokhi, Dumatskho, and Gamsi, following village roads and paths while learning about the history, customs, and everyday life of the valley. Along the way, there will be opportunities to enjoy views of the surrounding mountains, alpine meadows, and the Black Aragvi River. After the walk, we will visit a local guesthouse where we will enjoy a traditional lunch, taste regional dishes, and take part in a khinkali-making masterclass with our hosts before returning to Tbilisi in the evening.

The route follows forest trails, alpine meadows, and open ridgelines before reaching the summit of Jamjama Mountain. The ascent is steady throughout the day and rewards hikers with wide views of the surrounding valleys and mountains. 

 

Itinerary:

We will leave Tbilisi in the morning and drive towards Levitana Lake, reaching an elevation of approximately 1,800 meters above sea level. From here, we will begin our hike on a narrow mountain trail. The first section passes through a small forested area before opening into mountain meadows and wide open landscapes. The trail remains narrow but well visible as it gradually gains elevation.

Continuing uphill, we will reach the slopes of Jamjama Mountain at approximately 2,200 meters, enjoying views of the surrounding valleys and mountain ranges along the way. After spending time on the ridge and summit area, we will begin our descent towards Lailebi. The route down follows mountain paths through open meadows before reaching the village, where our vehicle will meet us for the drive back to Tbilisi.

Itinerary

Day 1 – Bakurkhevi to Buchukurta

In the morning, we will leave Tbilisi and drive to Bakurkhevi Village by 4WD vehicles. Horses will carry the group’s luggage during the first day of the trek, allowing participants to hike with only a light daypack. From Bakurkhevi, we will begin our ascent through open alpine meadows and mountain pastures, following a relatively wide and well-defined trail. The route covers approximately 5 km, with around 800 m of ascent and 130 m of descent. Along the way, there will be views of the surrounding mountains and valleys. Overnight in Buchukurta.

Day 2 – Buchukurta to Chirdili

After breakfast, we will continue our trek towards Chirdili Village. we dont have horses today. The trail passes through high mountain landscapes before descending towards Khevsureti. Today’s hike covers approximately 9 km, with around 200 m of ascent and 1,200 m of descent. Along the route, we will cross Pkhituri Pass and visit Ukanakho Lake before continuing towards Chirdili. Upon arrival, we will meet our vehicles and begin the drive back. We have considered more kilometers in the hiking parameters in case there’s bad road conditions for cars.

WHAT TO WEAR

  • Comfortable hiking boots with good grip (required)

  • Hiking trousers or other comfortable outdoor pants

  • Warm hat and light gloves (recommended, as weather can be cold at higher elevations)

Always make sure you have enough drinking water. 1.5 – 2 liters should be enough for the day.

A Private full-day hiking adventure in the remote Gudamakari Valley. This trek takes us deep into one of the lesser-visited valleys of the Greater Caucasus, following mountain roads and trails to the impressive Bursachili Waterfall. Along the way, we will pass through mountain landscapes, river valleys, and open slopes while enjoying a full day in nature.

Itinerary:

We will leave Tbilisi in the morning and head on Georgian Military Road to Gudamakari Valley. This lovely, remote region is a small historical geographic area stretched on the southern slopes of the Greater Caucasus Mountains along the Black Aragvi River.

Our hike will start near Bursachili Village at an elevation of approx. 1700 m.a.s.l. From there, we will follow an earth road deeper into the valley. After the first 5 kilometers, the rad will shit into a narrow walking path running along the mountain slopes. Eventually, we will reach the 20-meter-high spectacular Bursachili Waterfall, where we will have time for a scenic picnic.

In the afternoon, we will head back to our vehicles and head back to Tbilisi. Return to Tbilisi, the end of the tour.

Hiking Information

Distance: Approx. 7 km

Walking Time: Approx. 4 hours

Difficulty: Easy

The route follows village roads and walking paths. Most of the walk is relatively flat, with a few uphill sections leading to viewpoints over the valley. The hike is suitable for anyone with a basic level of fitness.

 

Itinerary:

After departing from Tbilisi, we will drive to Gudamakari Gorge, a mountain region known for its villages, traditions and sacred stories of local shrines, preserved through generations of oral traditions. Our local guide will take us through the villages of Chokhi, Dumatskho, and Gamsi, following village roads and paths while learning about the history, customs, and everyday life of the valley. Along the way, there will be opportunities to enjoy views of the surrounding mountains, alpine meadows, and the Black Aragvi River. After the walk, we will visit a local guesthouse where we will enjoy a traditional lunch, taste regional dishes, and take part in a khinkali-making masterclass with our hosts before returning to Tbilisi in the evening.

 

Dress Code

As we will be visiting chapels and religious sites during the tour, we kindly ask participants to dress respectfully. Please avoid very short shorts, crop tops, sleeveless tops with large openings, or other overly revealing clothing. Comfortable outdoor clothing that covers the shoulders and reaches at least to the knees is recommended.
