WHAT TO WEAR
Please wear clothes appropriate to the weather. The trail we will hike is not very challenging. But it includes uphills and forest walk can be muddy. if its winter please wear layers. bring extra shoes and leave it in the car. Trekking poles are always helpful. proper hiking boots. top is open and can be windy.
FOOD & DRINKS
Always make sure you have enough drinking water. 1.5-2 litters should be enough for the day. Please make sure to bring your own lunch – sandwiches, dried fruit, sweets. They will help you maintain your energy.
Day 3 – 5 August
Biisi Waterfall & Ateni Sioni
A wonderful combination of nature and history. Hike to the picturesque Biisi Waterfall before visiting the beautiful Ateni Sioni Church, one of Georgia’s finest medieval monuments.

We will leave Tbilisi in the morning and head to the Tana Valley, also known as the Ateni Gorge. This day is focused on enjoying nature at a relaxed pace, with an easy hike, fresh air, and time by the cold mountain water.
Upon reaching the trailhead, we will begin walking along a narrow path passing through meadows and forest sections. Along the route, we will cross a small creek several times. The water is usually shallow, but depending on the season, you may need to remove your shoes to cross comfortably.
Once we reach Biisi Waterfall, we will have time to relax, take photos, and enjoy the surroundings. After returning to the vehicles, we will visit the historic Ateni Sioni Church before heading back to Tbilisi. Arrival in the city is expected in the evening.

Day 4 – 6 August
David Gareja Monastery & Rainbow Hills
Explore the unique semi-desert landscapes of eastern Georgia on this full-day excursion. Visit the historic David Gareja Lavra Monastery, stop at the scenic Mravaltskaro Reservoir, walk among the colorful Rainbow Hills, and enjoy a lunch break in Udabno Village.

Price: 600 GEL
Hiking included: YES – We will walk a short distance on the “Rainbow” hills. There is no clear walking path, and the terrain consists of sand and gravel. We recommend wearing proper hiking shoes to avoid slipping.
Itinerary:
We will leave Tbilisi early in the morning and head to Mravaltskaro Reservoir. Mravaltskaro is famed for the colorful, rainbow-like hills surrounding it. We will also visit Natlismtsemeli Monastery. The complex was originally established at the end of the 7th century. Nowadays, it’s one of the main pilgrimage sites in the region.
Finally, we will reach David Lavra – the main section of David Gareja Monastery Complex, founded in the 6th century (Please be aware that the monastery is partly on the territory of Azerbaijan. Some parts are unavailable for sightseeing). Time and weather permitting, we will also stroll across the “Rainbow Hills” surrounding the shrine.
We will finish our trip with in a local restaurant in Udabno. The meal is NOT included in the price of the tour. You can order it a la carte. Return to Tbilisi. The end of the tour.

Hiking boots or sports shoes with a good grip are recommended.
Georgian customs require a strict dress code in monasteries. Women are obliged to cover their heads and legs. We recommend bringing one or two scarves for that purpose. Otherwise, you will have to wear communal clothes. Men must wear long trousers.
It can be muddy at rainbow hills. Having extra shoes are comfortable. Bring raincoats.
