Itinerary:

Day 1
Tbilisi – Dedoplistskaro – Datviskhevi – Pantishara Gorge – Minjiskure

We will leave Tbilisi early in the morning and drive through Kakheti to Vashlovani National Park. Once we reach the park, we will switch to off-road mode and head to explore Vashlovani hidden gems – Datviskhevi and Pantishara Gorge, and the stunning cliffs of Minjiskure. At Minjiskure, we will set up our camp for the night. we will also have shelter booked in case you dont want to camp. We will spend the evening relaxing and admiring the stars.

Day 2
Minjiskure – Elia Monastery – Restaurant – Tbilisi

After breakfast, we will visit Saint Elia Church.The visit requires following a steep rocky trail, so it’s not for everyone. If you have any mobility issues, we recommend taking a stroll around the area instead.

In the early afternoon, we will head delicious lunch in a local restaurant. Return to Tbilisi. The end of the trip.

Itinerary:

Early in the morning, we will head to the Samtskhe-Javakheti region in southwest Georgia. Our destination will be the area of Lake Paravani and Ninotsminda.

Since the 19th century, this area has been home to Doukhobors – a Spiritual Christian ethnoreligious group exiled from the Russian empire for their nonorthodox beliefs. By the end of the 19th century, there were around 10,000 Doukhobors in Georgia. Many of them left the country following the collapse of the Soviet Union.

During this trip, Our local host will meet us and we will have an opportunity to look at the architecture Doukhobors left behind. We will visit the Doukhobor community center in Gorelovka village. It was once the house of Peter Kalmykov, son of Illarion Kalmykov (the first leader of the Doukhobors that settled in the area in 1841). We will also have lunch with a local family.

On the way back to Tbilisi,we will stop at Poka convert shop. Return to Tbilisi in the evening. The end of the tour.

Itinerary:

Day 1

After leaving Tbilisi, we will reach Dedoplistskaro and Vashlovani national park administration where we register with our PASSPORTS and we will explore Vashlovani hidden gems – Datviskhevi and Pantishara Gorge, and the stunning cliffs of Mijniskure. Here you’ll find narrow canyons and jagged peaks, barren plateaus, forested mountains, and a snaking river forming the border with Azerbaijan.  we will set our tents or overnight in administration owned bungalows which is located in Mijniskure.

Day 2
Elia monastery – Dedoplistkaro – Tbilisi

Today we will prepare for the return journey to Tbilisi. On the way, we will visit Elia Monastery. To reach the monastery, we will walk up a staircase trail, including the final uphill section leading to the monastery area. After the visit, it will already be around lunchtime, and we will stop at a restaurant on the way back to Tbilisi. Return to Tbilisi around 6-7 pm. End of the trip.

Hiking included:
3.2 km total; the hike to Gveleti waterfall is short (1.6 km one way), but uphill (ascent of 328 m). The last part (150 meters) of the hike is steep and includes walking on boulders.

 

Itinerary:
We will leave Tbilisi early in the morning and drive to Kazbegi National Park along the famous Georgian Military Highway. On the way, we will stop to see Gudauri Panorama and admire Zhinvali Reservoir.  The first stop during our Kazbegi (Stepantsminda) Day Tour will be Gveleti village, from where we will hike to the beautiful Gveleti Waterfall. We will also take a short drive to visit Dariali Monastery Complex. If we have time we can order some food in Dariali restaurant.

Finally, we will head to Stepantsminda to visit the 14th-century Gergeti Holy Trinity Church. If the sky is clear, we may be lucky to see Mount Kazbegi. Return to Tbilisi. The end of Kazbegi Day Tour.

Day 1
Tbilisi – Lanchkhuti – Poti

Early in the morning, we will leave Tbilisi and head to the Guria region. Along the way, we will make short stops for breaks.

Our first visit will be to a local woman’s home in the small green village of Atsana, where she offers a unique local experience. She will show us how to make the traditional meal Brinjula during a masterclass. Afterward, we will taste it together with tea and local snacks while listening to her stories about the area and local life.

Our next stop will be a family winery with a beautiful garden and vineyard. The hosts offer traditional folklore masterclasses, and we will enjoy local songs while tasting their homemade wine.

Later, we will continue to Poti city. After checking into the guesthouse, we will go to see the Poti lighthouse and watch the sunset. Dinner will be in a local restaurant (self-paid).

 

Day 2
Poti – Kolkheti National Park – Nokalakevi – Tbilisi

After breakfast, we will start the morning with a boat ride in Kolkheti National Park, where we can enjoy the greenery, birds, and views of Paliastomi Lake.

Next, we will visit Nokalakevi, where a clear blue river meets natural hot sulphur springs. Please bring swimwear if you would like to go into the water.

Our next stop will be a birdwatching area where grey herons can often be seen nesting in the trees.

Afterward, we will have a lunch stop (self-paid) before driving back to Tbilisi.

Hiking included: YES – We will walk a short distance on the “Rainbow” hills. There is no clear walking path, and the terrain consists of sand and gravel. We recommend wearing proper hiking shoes to avoid slipping.

 

Itinerary:

We will leave Tbilisi early in the morning and head to Mravaltskaro Reservoir. Mravaltskaro is famed for the colorful, rainbow-like hills surrounding it. We will also visit Natlismtsemeli Monastery. The complex was originally established at the end of the 7th century. Nowadays, it’s one of the main pilgrimage sites in the region.

Finally, we will reach David Lavra – the main section of David Gareja Monastery Complex, founded in the 6th century (Please be aware that the monastery is partly on the territory of Azerbaijan. Some parts are unavailable for sightseeing). Time and weather permitting, we will also stroll across the “Rainbow Hills” surrounding the shrine.

We will stop at a local guesthouse in Udabno. The meal is NOT included in the price of the tour. You can order it a la carte.
Next stop will Be Sabereebi cave monasteries, where you have to walk uphills to reach and explore from inside.
Tour might switch and align sightseeing stops differently, due to weather and road conditions.

Return to Tbilisi. The end of the tour.

WHAT TO WEAR

Please wear clothes appropriate to the weather.
Hiking boots or sports shoes with a good grip are recommended.

Georgian customs require a strict dress code in monasteries. Women are obliged to cover their heads and legs. We recommend bringing one or two scarves for that purpose. Otherwise, you will have to wear communal clothes. Men must wear long trousers.

It can be muddy at rainbow hills. Having extra shoes are comfortable. Bring raincoats.

FOOD & DRINKS
Always make sure you have enough drinking water. 1.5 liter should be enough for one day.
Please bring snacks until we stop at restaurant.

OTHER ESSENTIAL ITEMS
If you are prone to motion sickness, please have medicine with you.
Bring a daypack to carry your items. It’s better to take a plane pillow for a nap during the ride.
If the weather forecast is sunny, bring sunscreen and sunglasses.

  • Trail description: It’s round-way trail that follows a ground road. The trail to the lake is uphill. The area around the lake is muddy. Walking poles and spare pair of shoes are recommended. in snow and ice its very slippery. having small crampons for shoes will make it easier. Hiking boots are must since just sport trousers will not make it !

We will leave Tbilisi in the morning and drive to Dzama Valley, famous for housing over fifty different monastic complexes. Our first stop will be Kintsvisi Monastery (snow and ice permitted! ) . The temple’s main highlight is the 15th-century frescoes depicting saints and contemporary historical figures, including Giorgi III and Tamar. Next, we will visit Sarkineti Monastery – Georgia’s only modern church carved in the rock. Finally, we will hike to Bateti Lake. The trail will take us uphill through a beautiful forest and several open meadows, where we will have a chance to admire the nature.  Return to Tbilisi. The end of the tour.

You can also spare clothes and a spare pair of shoes, leave them in the car, and change in after the hike since the trail is always muddy and icy.
