During this trip, you will have an opportunity to explore the central part of the Kakheti region, especially Sighnaghi. Charming historical sites, impressive views of the Caucasus, and delicious Georgian wine await you.

Itinerary:

Today we will head to the Kakheti region – the cradle of Georgian wine-making traditions. We will stop at Badiauri village to learn how to make Shoti bread and at a winery to taste wine. We will also visit the famous Bodbe Monastery, one of the important pilgrimage sites in Georgia, spoiling visitors with great views of the Caucasus. From Bodbe, we will head to Sighnaghi – a charming little town full of 18th-19th-century architecture and fantastic views. In Sighnaghi, we will stroll the lovely, cobbled streets of the city and climb the Sighnaghi city wall. Time permitting, we may visit Sighnaghi Museum, where we will see several paintings by Niko Pirosmani. We will finish our day with a delicious Georgian meal in a local restaurant. Return to Tbilisi. The end of the tour.

How To Prepare For The Tour

MEETING TIME AND PLACE
We meet at 9:00 in Samaia Garden
Please be on time. In case of any delays, please inform your guide. Otherwise, the group will depart without you. 

 

WEATHER
Georgian weather changes often and fast. For this reason, it's essential to follow the weather forecast closely. 

Here is the weather forecast.
Please check it the night before the tour to be well prepared.

 

WHAT TO WEAR
Please wear clothes appropriate to the weather. Bring raincoats just in case. Since we will be visiting a monastery, ladies will have to cover their heads and wear skirts. You can bring those items with you or use the communal ones that are usually provided by each temple. Men are obliged to wear long trousers.  

 

FOOD & DRINKS
Always make sure you have enough drinking water. 1-1.5 liters should be enough. Make sure to bring snacks. They will help you maintain your energy throughout the day. Lunch stop will be late.  Additionally, we will also stop in the supermarket in the morning to make sure you have everything needed with you.

 

OTHER ESSENTIAL ITEMS
If you are prone to motion sickness, please have medicine with you. Bring a day pack to carry important items with you. You can also take a plane pillow to take a nap during the ride.
