Itinerary:

We will leave Tbilisi after breakfast and head to Sabaduri, to a local ranch where our horse-riding adventure will take place. Once we reach the starting point of our horse ride, we will get a crash course on how to handle a horse. It’s important to be careful around the animals – not to make any sudden moves or noises. If you are afraid of horses, we recommend getting your first experience in an enclose space of a horse-riding club rather than outdoor.  Once we ready, we will head on a horse ride through a picturesque forest, meadows, and hills toward Sioni Lake. Our ride will take approximately 3 hours. Please take with you something to eat. There are stores or restaurants in the area and you may get hungry after the ride.  Once, we finish our horse ride, time and energy permitting, we may visit a local bear sanctuary to feed animals rescued by the volunteers from abuse. Return to Tbilisi. The end of Sabaduri Horse Ride Tour.

How to prepare for the tour

MEETING TIME AND PLACE

We meet at 09:00 at Samaia Garden. Please be on time. In case of any delays, please inform your guide. Otherwise, the group will depart without you.

WEATHER

Georgian weather changes often and fast. For this reason, it's essential to follow the weather forecast closely. Here is the weather forecast. Please check it the night before the tour to be well prepared.

WHAT TO WEAR

Please wear clothes appropriate to the weather. Make sure to bring layers of warm clothes to stay warm while horse riding. Gloves, hats, and scarves are obligatory.  Shoes are important in horse riding. The ideal shoes would have a smooth sole and a small hill (kind of cowboy style). But if you don't have any, sports shoes will do. Don't wear hiking boots. They are heavy and can easily get stuck in a stirrup.

HORSE RIDING EXPERIENCE

You don't need to be an experienced horse rider. Beginners are welcome. We will be riding in small groups (max. 5 riders). Horses are calm and used to inexperienced riders.  Please let us know if you have any previous experience with horse riding.

FOOD & DRINKS

Always make sure you have enough drinking water. 1.5-2 liters should be enough for the day. Please bring packed lunch with you.

OTHER ESSENTIAL ITEMS

If you are prone to motion sickness, please have medicine with you. Bring a day pack to carry important items with you.

GUIDE

We will e-mail you the guide's name and contact info a few days before the trip. Please make sure to check your inbox. Meanwhile, if you have any questions, feel free to contact us via e-mail or WhatsApp.
