Join us for a relaxed hike to Machi Fortress in Lagodekhi Protected Area. It’s a perfect trail to rest from the city noise in a lovely forest.

Trail description: the path leads through a thick old forest to the vine-covered ruins of a 7th-century Machi fortress. Most of the route is wide and gentle, without tricky secions, although it can be muddy.

Itinerary:

Early in the morning, we will leave Tbilisi and drive to Lagodekhi National Park – the oldest protected area in Georgia. Our objective for today will be to reach the forest-hidden ruins of the medieval Matchi Fortress. Our hiking trail will follow an uphill forest trail running along a mountain stream that we will cross a couple of times. Upon reaching the fortress, we will have time to relax and rest. Time permitting, on the way back to Tbilisi, we may stop for a bit of extra sightseeing and dinner. Return to Tbilisi in the evening. The end of the tour.
