Join us on a Day Tour of Lori Berd to visit one of the most spectacular sites in Northern Armenia – an 11th century Armenian fortress built over a deep gorge cut by the Dzoraget and Tashir rivers. During our trip we will also explore a Greek village and several spectacular religious sites. We will also sample the local cuisine and enjoy the beautiful nature.

Itinerary:
In the morning we will cross the Georgian-Armenian border and drive to the village of Lori Berd and its famous castle. On the way we will stop at Yaghdan, a Greek settlement that spoils visitors with a fascinating history of Pontic Greeks that found a home in the Caucasus.
After a lunch break in Stepanavan, we continue to Amrakits, where we will visit the unique Russian Orthodox Church of St. Nicholas. Finally, we arrive at Lori Berd, an 11th century Armenian fortress built on a deep gorge cut by the Dzoraget and Tashir rivers. Lori Castle delights visitors with centuries of rich history and stunning views. We will take some time to explore the fortress before making our way back to the border of Georgia. Return to Tbilisi in the evening. End of the tour.
