This itinerary combines two fantastic sites – the amazing Dashbashi Canyon with a 240-meter-long glass bridge and the historical Asureti village built by 19th-century German settlers.

Itinerary:

We will start the day with a morning drive to Tsalka (Dashbashi) Canyon. Once we reach the canyon, we will take a walk on a 240-meters-long glass bridge stretching over it. Next, we will take a short hike down the canyon to see the beautiful Dashbashi Waterfall. The walk is short, only around 3 km round way. Later on, we will also explore the area of St. George Church, a medieval temple overlooking the canyon. From Dashbashi, we will head to Asureti, a cozy village once known as Elisabethal. German settlers built the town at the beginning of the 19th century. The place still partially maintains its original architecture. We will stroll the cobbled streets, visit a local cemetery, and dine in the Bahnhof Station restaurant.

Asureti is an old GerAsureti is an old Georgian village destroyed by invasions in the 18th century. In the 19th century, German colonists were settled here by the Russian Tsar. They a colony – Elizabethtal.

Saint George Church stands in Dashbashi Village overlooking Dashbashi Canyon. The domed church has the shape of a cross and is surrounded by medieval tombstones.

Dashbashi (Tsalka) Canyon is part of Khrami gorge near Dashbashi village. The canyon is about 7 km long and 300 meters deep. It's known for its astounding cascading waterfalls.

How To Prepare For The Tour

MEETING TIME AND PLACE

We meet at 09:00 in Samaia Garden.

Please be on time. In case of any delays, please inform your guide. Otherwise, the group will depart without you.

 

WEATHER

Georgian weather changes often and fast. For this reason, it's essential to follow the weather forecast closely.

WHAT TO WEAR

Please wear clothes appropriate to the weather. Wear comfortable sports shoes. We will be walking a lot. 

 

FOOD & DRINKS

Always make sure you have enough drinking water. 1.5 - 2 litter should be enough for the day. Please make sure to bring snacks to stay full before the meal time.

Additionally, we will also stop in the supermarket in the morning to make sure you have everything you need.

 

OTHER ESSENTIAL ITEMS

If you are prone to motion sickness, please have medicine with you. Bring a day pack to carry important items with you.
