Itinerary:

We will depart Tbilisi in the morning and head south to Kosalari, a small village some 50 km south of Tbilisi. In Kosalari, we will meet a local guide who will take us around and introduce us to the local culture and customs.
We will visit the local mosque and stop at a carpet weaver’s house, where we will have an opportunity to see the finest examples of Azeri handmade carpets. We will also observe the weavers at work and try weaving a carpet ourselves. After the tour, we will enjoy a lovely homemade lunch of delicious Azeri food.
Return to Tbilisi in the afternoon. The end of the tour.

How to prepare for the tour

MEETING TIME AND PLACE

We meet at 10:00 at Samaia Garden. Please be on time. In case of any delays, please inform your guide. Otherwise, the group will depart without you.  

 

WEATHER

Georgian weather changes often and fast. For this reason, it's essential to follow the weather forecast closely. Here is the weather forecast. Please check it the night before the tour to be well prepared.

 

WHAT TO WEAR

Please wear clothes appropriate to the weather. Modest clothes are a must. Ladies should also bring scarves to cover thier heads while visiting local mosque. 

 

FOOD & DRINKS

Always make sure you have enough drinking water. 1.5-2 liters should be enough for the day. We will eat lunch at the village at one of the local families. The food is simple but tasty. There will be vegetarian but not vegan options.

 

OTHER ESSENTIAL ITEMS

If you are prone to motion sickness, please have medicine with you. Bring a day pack to carry important items with you.
