Trail description: Part of the trail is an unmarked forest path covered with grass and leaves. Later, the trail becomes clearer but requires walking on stones and boulders. The hike includes two steep uphill sections and one intense downhill. Hiking shoes are a must. Walking poles are recommended.
Itinerary:
Our trail will start at Amlevi Highway. It’s first part follows a 2-kilometer-long, almost unknown trail to the Birtvisi Canyon. The path leads through a beautiful forest. This section ends up in the heart of Birtvisi Canyon – a lovely, secluded gorge surrounded by steep mountain walls and massive rocks. Once we reach the canyon, we will explore the area in depth and have a picnic. Bring your favorite snacks! Next, you will start Section 2 of the hike, which will take us to the upper parts of the canyon. Expect breathtaking views and plenty of open space. We will finish in Tbisi village. Time permitting, you may stop for dinner in a local restaurant in Asureti. Return to Tbilisi. End of the tour.
