Trail description: The hike follows a pilgrimage road. The trail’s most challenging aspect is a significant elevation gain. Trail is mostly open under the sun. we use walking poles to help ascending or descending. It’s a great hike for intermediate hikers.

Itinerary:
We will leave Tbilisi in the morning and head north on the Georgian Military Road. Our journey will take us to Aragvi River Valley, where we will stop in the small village called Mleta. From Mleta, we will hike uphill to Lomisa church – a medieval Christian shrine dedicated to Saint George. Lomisa is the principal shrine for the highland province of Mtiuleti and neighboring communities. On our hike, we will follow the pilgrims’ route. Views from the trail are stunning. Time permitting, after the hike, we will visit a local restaurant for early dinner. Return to Tbilisi. The end of the tour.

Trail description: It is an easy, one-way trail with a couple of uphill sections and small river stream. Large part of it is done in a forest. We recommend wearing hiking boots and bringing walking poles.
NOTE: if Ikvi trail has too much snow we will switch to standard itinerary which means hiking from Rkoni village to Rkoni monastery, Bridge and back.

Itinerary:
We will leave Tbilisi in the morning, and head to Tedzami River Valley. We will start our hike at the Church of the Mother of God in Chachubeti Village. First, we will reach Ikvi Church, a cross-in-square temple dated to the 11th century. The trail to the church follows an old earth road surrounded by trees, forested mountains, and gentle meadows. From Ikvi church, we will head to the medieval Rkoni Monastery. The main temple of the monastery dates to the VII century. Our last stop will be the picturesque Tamar’s Bridge, one of the best-preserved stone bridges in Georgia. From Tamar’s Bridge, we will hike back to Rkoni village, where we will meet our vehicle. Return to Tbilisi. The end of the tour.

Trail description: It’s a loop hike with a couple of uphill sections. An ascent of 860 meters stretches over the first 7 km with a following steep decline. We recommend bringing walking poles to ease the descent. This hiking trail might be difficult for inexperienced hikers. winter is slippery and recommended to bring small type of shoe crampons if you have!Â

In the morning, we will head to Borjomi National Park. Our hike will start in the Likani River Gorge. The trail is well known for its spectacular views and the possibility of wildlife encounters. It’s a moderate-level hike, but it may be challenging for inexperienced hikers.
Initially, we will hike in the forest. Once we reach the trail’s highest section, we will see the gorge stretching below us. Finally, we will descend back to Likani. During the hike, we will stop for a picnic lunch in a spectacular viewpoint from which you can admire the mountains of the Borjomi National Park. we will not stop for restaurant. Return to Tbilisi in the evening around 7 pm. The temple’s main highlight is the 15th-century frescoes depicting saints and contemporary historical figures, including Giorgi III and Tamar. Next, we will visit Sarkineti Monastery – Georgia’s only modern church carved in the rock. Finally, we will hike to Bateti Lake. The trail will take us uphill through a beautiful forest and several open meadows, where we will have a chance to admire the nature. Return to Tbilisi. The end of the tour.

Next, we will drive to the mining town of Chiatura, where we will stop at the medieval Mghvimevi Monastery and take a cable car ride to the ruins of the former Pioneer Palace. We will also take a look at the old cable car station.
Finally, we will visit the fascinating impressive 40-meter-high Katskhi Pillar, with a tiny hermitage built on top of it. While climbing to the top of the pillar is forbidden for secular people, the view of the church is one of the most iconic in Georgia. Return to Tbilisi in the evening. The end of the tour.

The tour ends at the lakeside, where you can relax at a café for lunch, take the cable car to Vake Park, or simply order a taxi home.
