Overview

Mount Ararat, standing at 5,137 m, is the highest peak in Türkiye. While not technically difficult, its biggest challenge is the altitude. The route is suitable for fit hikers experienced in trekking on rough, sometimes rocky terrain for 8–9 hours a day.

Summit day is approximately a 10-hour round trip, with snow on the last few hundred meters, requiring crampons. No advanced mountaineering gear is needed beyond that. Travelers should have trekking, camping, and backpacking experience, and be in good physical condition.
