Trail description: requires walking on stones and boulders. The hike includes one steep uphill – downhill. Hiking shoes are a must. Walking poles are recommended.

 


Itinerary:
Our trail path leads through a beautiful forest. This section ends up in the heart of Birtvisi Canyon – a lovely, secluded gorge surrounded by steep mountain walls and massive rocks. Once we reach the canyon, we will explore the area in depth and have a picnic. Bring your favorite snacks! Next, we will try to explore the old tower walls if the weather allows us. Expect breathtaking views and plenty of open space. We will come back the same way. Time permitting, you may stop for dinner in a local restaurant in Asureti. Return to Tbilisi. End of the tour.

Itinerary:

Day 1 | 

  • Destination: Tbilisi – Stepantsminda (1800 m.a.s.l.)

  • Details:

    • Depart Tbilisi and head to Stepantsminda.

    • Collect food supplies and recheck equipment.

    • Overnight in a guesthouse with dinner and breakfast.

Day 2 | 

  • Destination: Stepantsminda – Meteo Station Base Camp (2200 m.a.s.l. to 3600 m.a.s.l.)

  • Details:

    • Early breakfast in Stepantsminda.

    • Drive to Gergeti Holy Trinity Church.

    • Meet pack horses, load luggage, and start hiking toward Meteo Station.

    • Arrival at Meteo Shelter at Kazbegi Mountain around 15:00.

Day 3 | 

  • Destination: Meteo Station (3600 m.a.s.l. to 4000 m.a.s.l. and back)

  • Details:

    • Spend the day getting ready for the summit ascent.

    • Trek to 4000 m for acclimatization.

    • Equipment check and training end at 15:00.

    • Rest and relax for the day.

 

Day 4 | 

  • Summit day (from 3600 m.a.s.l. to 5054 m.a.s.l. and back)

  • Details:

    • Get up at 02:00 am and prepare for the final climb.

    • Reach the peak of Kazbegi Mountain, the most challenging part of the expedition.

    • Experience the most rewarding view as you stand on top of the world!

    • After conquering the peak, head back to Meteo shelter.

    • Expected arrival back at Meteo Shelter around 18:00.

 

Day 5 | 

  • Meteo Station – Stepantsminda – Tbilisi (from 3600 m.a.s.l. to 2200 m.a.s.l.)

  • Details:

    • In the morning, trek back to Stepantsminda.

    • Return to Tbilisi, marking the end of the expedition.

 

Day 6 | Mon 26 Aug

  • Backup Day

  • Details:

    • An extra day in case of difficult weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances.

Equipment You Need to HAVE:

  1. Mountaineering boots (not trekking boots, we wear trekking boots only until Meteo shelter. You can rent mountaineering boots at M Plus shop in Tbilisi)
  2. Two pairs of gloves (one light and one warm – winter ski gloves)
  3. Ski goggles or good sunglasses
  4. Headlamp – make sure it will last 5-6 hrs or have extra batteries
  5. Trekking poles (we use trekking poles until the last uphill where we switch them with an ice axe)
  6. Mountaineering jackets / Ski jacket
  7. Waterproof trousers / Ski trousers + leggings
  8. Thermal clothes

  10. Balaclava mask or something to fully cover your face
  11. Gaiters are very important to keep your feet dry

Overview

Mount Ararat, standing at 5,137 m, is the highest peak in Türkiye. While not technically difficult, its biggest challenge is the altitude. The route is suitable for fit hikers experienced in trekking on rough, sometimes rocky terrain for 8–9 hours a day.

Summit day is approximately a 10-hour round trip, with snow on the last few hundred meters, requiring crampons. No advanced mountaineering gear is needed beyond that. Travelers should have trekking, camping, and backpacking experience, and be in good physical condition.

Itinerary

Day 1 — Tbilisi → Georgia–Turkey Border → Dogubayazit

  • Depart Tbilisi in the morning.

  • Cross the border near Kartsakhi Lake.

  • Continue to Dogubayazit (approx. 500 km), with stops to rest and enjoy the views.

  • Time to buy local Turkish SIM cards.

  • Hotel check-in and dinner with your local guides.

  • Overnight: Dogubayazit hotel (twin/double rooms).

 


Day 2 — Dogubayazit → First Base Camp

  • Breakfast at hotel.

  • Transfer to Mount Ararat trekking start point.

  • Load luggage onto pack horses and hike with personal backpacks.

  • Trek up to 3,200 m (First Base Camp) — approx. 4–5 hrs.

  • Set up tents and enjoy dinner.

  • Overnight: Camping at First Base Camp.

 

Day 3 — First Base Camp → Second Base Camp

  • Trek to 4,200 m (Second Base Camp) — approx. 3–4 hrs.

  • Afternoon free to relax, adjust equipment, and practice walking with crampons.

Day 4 — Summit Day

  • Descend all day to Dogubayazit — clear downhill path.

Day 6 — Dogubayazit → Tbilisi

Itinerary:

Early in the morning, we will leave Tbilisi and head to Sveri Adventure Camp in Imereti to try Via Ferrata Georgia.
At Sveri, we will meet our guides, who will assess our skill and fitness level and provide us with the essential equipment and instructions. After a short break for a cup of coffee, we will start climbing the Via Ferrata or the “Iron Path” – a protected climbing route which we will use to slowly climb up to the mountain and reach a local unexplored cave located at its top. Usually climbers spend around 2 hours climbing Via Ferrata Georgia. Once we finish our “Iron Path”, we will go back to camp and enjoy our picnic. We will walk down to the river for refreshing! We will leave Tbilisi in the morning and head to town Manglisi, where we will start our hike.
The trail will lead us through forests, remote villages, and the stunning landscapes of Algeti National Park.
On the way, we will see ruins of early-medieval churches and incredible mountain views.We will also stop in the middle of the hike at a local grandma’s to warm up and eat delicious homemade lunch.
After the lunch, we will continue our footpath towards the mountain ridge and very soon we will descend down to Manglisi.Once we return to Manglisi, we visit the stunning Manglisi Cathedral before returning to Tbilisi.

Hiking included: YES – We will walk a short distance on the “Rainbow” hills. There is no clear walking path, and the terrain consists of sand and gravel. We recommend wearing proper hiking shoes to avoid slipping.

 

Itinerary:

We will leave Tbilisi early in the morning and head to Mravaltskaro Reservoir. Mravaltskaro is famed for the colorful, rainbow-like hills surrounding it. We will also visit Natlismtsemeli Monastery. The complex was originally established at the end of the 7th century. Nowadays, it’s one of the main pilgrimage sites in the region.

Finally, we will reach David Lavra – the main section of David Gareja Monastery Complex, founded in the 6th century (Please be aware that the monastery is partly on the territory of Azerbaijan. Some parts are unavailable for sightseeing). Time and weather permitting, we will also stroll across the “Rainbow Hills” surrounding the shrine.

We will finish our trip with a dinner in a local guesthouse in Udabno. The meal is NOT included in the price of the tour. You can order it a la carte. Return to Tbilisi. The end of the tour.

It can be muddy at rainbow hills. Having extra shoes are comfortable. Bring raincoats.

Join our Kazbegi Day Tour to explore Georgia’s most famous travel destination. We will take you on an adventurous ride along the Georgian Military Road; visit Gudauri Panorma. hike to the 30-meter-high Gveleti Waterfall, and catch a glimpse of Mount Kazbegi from the Gergeti Holy Trinity Church.

Hiking included:
3.2 km total; the hike to Gveleti waterfall is short (1.6 km one way), but uphill (ascent of 328 m). The last part (150 meters) of the hike is steep and includes walking on boulders.

 

Itinerary:
We will leave Tbilisi early in the morning and drive to Kazbegi National Park along the famous Georgian Military Highway. The first stop during our Kazbegi (Stepantsminda) Day Tour will be Gveleti village, from where we will hike to the beautiful Gveleti Waterfall. We will also take a short drive to visit Dariali Monastery Complex. If we have time we can order some food in Dariali restaurant.

Finally, we will head to Stepantsminda to visit the 14th-century Gergeti Holy Trinity Church. If the sky is clear, we may be lucky to see Mount Kazbegi. On the way, we will stop to see Gudauri Panorama and admire Zhinvali Reservoir. Return to Tbilisi. The end of Kazbegi Day Tour.

Let’s go to Borjomi-Kharagauli National Park to enjoy the forest, pristine nature, and breathtaking mountain views. This hike in Borjomi-Kharagauli is great for hikers with some experience.

Approximate hiking time: 7-8 hrs.
Trail description: It’s a one-way hike with a couple of uphill sections. An incline of 860 meters stretches over the first 7 km with a following steep decline of 700 m. We recommend bringing walking poles to ease the descent. This hiking trail is difficult for inexperienced hikers.

 

Itinerary:

In the morning, we will head to Borjomi National Park. Our hike will start in the Likani River Gorge. We have a quick stop at the administration. The trail is well known for its spectacular views and the possibility of wildlife encounters. It’s a moderate-level hike, but it will be challenging for inexperienced hikers.

Initially, we will hike in the forest. Once we reach the trail’s highest section, we will see the gorge stretching below us. Finally, we will descend to Kvabiskhevi Valley. During the hike, we will stop for a picnic lunch in a spectacular viewpoint from which you can admire the mountains of the Borjomi National Park. Please have your own lunch, we are not going to stop at restaurant. Return to Tbilisi in the evening. The end of the trip.

Georgian weather changes often and fast. For this reason, it’s essential to follow the weather forecast closely. Here is the weather forecast. Please check it the night before the tour to be well prepared.

WHAT TO WEAR

Please wear clothes appropriate to the weather.
The trail we will hike can be challenging, particularly the long descent section.
Make sure to wear proper hiking boots and bring walking poles.
The last part might be muddy — we always recommend to leave extra shoes in the car.
Raincoats are always good to have.
Also bring sunscreen, a cap, or sunglasses.

FOOD & DRINKS

Always make sure you have enough drinking water. 1.5–2 liters should be enough for the day.
Make sure to bring snacks – sandwiches, dried fruit, and sweets.
Please have your own lunch, we are not going to stop at restaurant.

OTHER ESSENTIAL ITEMS

If you are prone to motion sickness, please have medicine with you.

Join us as we explore one of the loveliest hiking trails in Georgia – Juta. This hike is a great opportunity to explore Kazbegi National Park and see Mount Chaukhi. Get ready for fresh rivers and clean air!

Trail parameters:

  • Difficulty: Moderate. Easy for experienced hikers.
  • Distance: 16 km (A to A) (usually it’s way less but this time we have to start hiking earlier due to road reconstruction)
  • Min. elevation: 2168 m.a.s.l.
  • Max. elevation: 2586 m.a.s.l.
  • Elevation gain: 418 m
  • Duration: 4.5–5 hours
  • Trail description: It is an easy to moderate (depends on your fitness level) round way hike with an elevation gain of 418 m. The initial stage of the hike includes a steep uphill. On the way, we will cross a river on foot. Hiking boots are a must.  hiking poles are helpful.

 

Itinerary:

We will leave Tbilisi in the morning and head on the Georgian Military Road to Kazbegi. Our hike will start in the picturesque Juta village before 3 km since the road is under construction. The most difficult is the initial stage of the trail, which involves a relatively steep ascent. Juta is famous for its alpine meadows, roaring rivers, and crystal-clear waterfalls. On our hike, we will aim to reach an alpine lake located almost exactly at the bottom of Chaukhi.  The hike includes crossing the river. you can skip the lake and chill at 5th season hut. In the evening, we will return to Tbilisi.

Day 1 – 30 August, Saturday: Arrival

  • Arrival by Turkish Airlines at Tbilisi International Airport at 10:05 AM

  • Transfer: Tbilisi Airport → Tbilisi Hotel

  • Accommodation: 7 twin rooms + 1 single room with breakfast (3-star hotel)

  • Activity: Tbilisi old town city tour with English-speaking guide


Day 2 – 31 August: Tbilisi → Mestia

  • After breakfast, transfer to Mestia in a large minibus suitable for all guests and their luggage.

  • Stops during the trip for stretching and lunch stop at a restaurant (meals self-paid)

  • Evening: Dinner is included

  • Overnight in Mestia

 

Day 3 – 1 September: Mestia → Trail Start → Zhabeshi Trek

  • In the morning, after breakfast, the group will grab their lunch boxes and head to the trail starting point using three 4WD vehicles (each fits 6 passengers).

  • Group size: 15 people + 1 guide

Hiking Distance: 16.1 km (could be less, depending on where the cars drop off)
Elevation: 763 m uphill, 523 m downhill
Typical hiking time: 4–5 hours including breaks

  • Extra luggage will be transferred to the guesthouse in Zhabeshi ahead of time.

Day 4 – 2 September: Zhabeshi → Adishi

Distance: 10.6 km
Elevation: 909 m up, 527 m down

  • After breakfast, the group will take lunch boxes and begin the hike to Adishi.

  • Luggage will be transported by car.

Overnight in Adishi

 

Day 5 – 3 September: Adishi → Iprali

  • Distance: 18.7 km

  • Elevation: 860 m up, 1069 m down

  • After breakfast, the group takes their lunch boxes and begins hiking toward Iprali.

  • Shortly after departure, there will be a river crossing on horseback (included in the tour).

  • Luggage will be transferred to Iprali by car.

Day 6 – 4 September: Iprali → Ushguli

  • Distance: 12.4 km

  • Elevation: 677 m up, 436 m down

  • After breakfast, with lunch boxes, the group begins hiking to Ushguli.

  • Luggage will be transported to Ushguli by car.

Overnight in Ushguli


Day 7 – 5 September: Ushguli → Tbilisi Transfer

  • After breakfast, return to Tbilisi by minibus.

  • There will be stops along the way for stretching and meals (self-paid at restaurants).
