Itinerary:

We will leave Tbilisi in the morning and head to the Imereti region. will drive to the mining town of Chiatura, where we will stop at the medieval Mghvimevi Monastery and take a cable car ride to the ruins of the former Pioneer Palace. We will also take a look at the old cable car station.

Finally, we will visit the fascinating impressive 40-meter-high Katskhi Pillar, with a tiny hermitage built on top of it. While climbing to the top of the pillar is forbidden for secular people, the view of the church is one of the most iconic in Georgia. Please have your own lunch, we are not going to stop at restaurant. Return to Tbilisi in the evening. The end of the tour.

We will start our trip with a visit to Dmanisi – an open-air museum dedicated to the earliest hominid dispersal beyond Africa (1.75 million years ago). Next, we will head to Bolnisi Sioni – a cathedral built in 478–493. It is the oldest extant church in Georgia, famous for its early medieval inscriptions in the Georgian alphabet. We will also visit the fantastic Bolnisi Museum and stroll the cobbled streets built in the 19th century by Germans from Swabia. Once we finish sightseeing, we will head to a local restaurant for late lunch/ dinner. Return to Tbilisi. The end of the tour.

Itinerary:

Early in the morning, we will head to the Samtskhe-Javakheti region in southwest Georgia. Our destination will be the area of Lake Paravani and Ninotsminda.

Since the 19th century, this area has been home to Doukhobors – a Spiritual Christian ethnoreligious group exiled from the Russian empire for their nonorthodox beliefs. By the end of the 19th century, there were around 10,000 Doukhobors in Georgia. Many of them left the country following the collapse of the Soviet Union.

During this trip, we will have an opportunity to look at the architecture Doukhobors left behind. We will visit the Doukhobor community center in Gorelovka village. It was once the house of Peter Kalmykov, son of Illarion Kalmykov (the first leader of the Doukhobors that settled in the area in 1841). We will also have lunch with a local family.

On the way back to Tbilisi,we will stop at Poka convert shop. Return to Tbilisi in the evening. The end of the tour.

Itinerary:

In the morning, we will cross the Georgian-Armenian border and head to the famous UNESCO-protected Haghpat Monastery. Described as a “masterpiece of religious architecture and a major center of learning in the Middle Ages,” Haghpat monastery was placed in 1996 on UNESCO’s World Heritage List.

Once we finish sightseeing in Haghpat, we will stop for lunch in a local restaurant. There we can try delicious kebabs, lavash, fresh salads and much more.

Next, we will head to the 12th-century Kobayr Monastery, hidden in a charming forest. We will take a 1.5-km-long easy walk to get to the temple. It will be a great opportunity for us to enjoy some nature and stretch legs after a long drive.

Our last stop for today will be Odzun, an early-medieval church famous for its unusual pinkish color and arched galleries on both sides of the central entrance. In the morning, we will head northeast to Pankisi Valley. Pankisi is home to a Chechen minority called Kists. Upon arrival, we will meet our local host, who will guide us through the meanders of Chechen Kist culture. The day will be busy – we will explore two Kist villages and visit a mosque and a felt workshop. We will also visit several historical attractions in the area, such as the Pankisi Amphitheater. If the weather is good, we will also climb to the ruins of a watch tour built once by Chechen warriors.

Have you ever heard about Rtveli? It’s a traditional vintage and rural harvest holiday in Georgia accompanied by feasts and celebrations. It usually takes place from mid-September to mid-October. We will leave Tbilisi in the morning and head to a cozy family winery in Kakheti. Upon arrival, we will meet our host. We will then head to the vineyards to start collecting grapes. The work is hard – grapes must be collected, and the juice must be squeezed out. In the past, winemakers and their families used to do that by stomping on the grapes with bare feet. Nowadays, machines are helping with processing the grapes. Once we are done with our work a time will come for the celebration with a a lovely homemade dinner made of traditional local dishes. Itinerary:

We will start the day with a morning drive to Tsalka (Dashbashi) Canyon. Once we reach the canyon, we will take a walk on a 240-meters-long glass bridge stretching over it. Next, we will take a short hike down the canyon to see the beautiful Dashbashi Waterfall. The walk is short, only around 3 km round way. Later on, we will also explore the area of St. George Church, a medieval temple overlooking the canyon. From Dashbashi, we will head to Asureti, a cozy village once known as Elisabethtal. German settlers built the town at the beginning of the 19th century. The place still partially maintains its original architecture. We will stroll the cobbled streets, visit a local cemetery, and dine in the Bahnhof Station restaurant.

Rtveli – Grape Harvest Day Tour – 19 Sep 2026

Have you ever heard about Rtveli? It’s a traditional vintage and rural harvest holiday in Georgia accompanied by feasts and celebrations. It usually takes place from mid-September to mid-October. Join us on tour to help local winemakers pick up the grapes and to have some fun (with wine, of course)!

Itinerary:

We will leave Tbilisi in the morning and head to a cozy family winery in Kakheti. Upon arrival, we will meet our host. We will then head to the vineyards to start collecting grapes. The work is hard – grapes must be collected, and the juice must be squeezed out. In the past, winemakers and their families used to do that by stomping on the grapes with bare feet. Nowadays, machines are helping with processing the grapes. Once we are done with our work a time will come for the celebration with a a lovely homemade dinner made of traditional local dishes. Masterclass of Making Georgian food. Return to Tbilisi in the evening. The end of the tour.

HOW TO PREPARE FOR THE TOUR

MEETING TIME AND PLACE
We meet 10:00 at Samaia Garden. Please be on time. In case of any delays, please inform your guide. Otherwise, the group will depart without you.

WEATHER

Georgian weather changes often and fast. For this reason, it’s essential to follow the weather forecast closely. Here is the weather forecast. Please check it the night before the tour to be well prepared.

WHAT TO WEAR

Please wear clothes appropriate to the weather. Wear comfortable shoes and outfit. You might get dirty in vineyard, bring something to exchange.

FOOD & DRINKS
Always make sure you have enough drinking water. 1.5-2 liters should be enough for the day. or bring bottle and you can fill it later.

OTHER ESSENTIAL ITEMS
If you are prone to motion sickness, please have medicine with you. Bring a day pack to carry important items with you. have sun protection.
